Brother Al, you may be right about this particular truck having a Chev, but I don't know for sure since I only plucked the pic off the net. The engine compartment is big enough to swallow just about anything. You are correct, however, about the original engine being a six. A flathead of 232 ci. Kind of a weenie engine for a truck rated at 3/4 ton! Probably the most frequent swap I've seen done is to put a 308 Hornet six in there (gotta keep that Hudson all Hudson). But besides the Stude in the '41 I had, I've seen several SBC's, a 440 Morepower, and a BIG BLOCK BOB is now in the '47 I had.
Spray, I'd be happy to give you the '56, but you'll have to make a trip back to Oregon to wrassle it away from the gal that owns it now. And unless you can twist 'em like Goldberg, my money's on her!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
