He is coming along pretty well. The floor is almost done and he has about a months worth of work to do before it can go in for paint. He keeps making changes to it that cost him lots of time, things bug him until he tears it apart and redoes them. But for the most part he should make Daytona in November.
Here is where it sits now. Thanks for asking.

I am using your last shot as a screen saver Don, very nicely done. I too llike the slightly different shell, maybe a early wippet sheel, but looks fantastic what ever it is. The orange and the way you have done up the engine yields directly to the black paint IMHO too.
I bet you and your son are having a blast, I am very happy for you. You are a lucky man, that is wealth beyond a mans dreams there."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

CHEVYBOY, Brad, and Brick.........thanks guys. Uh, Brad, there aren't any whips involved with those chains, are there?????? I just rewatched Pulp Fiction, and am still having nightmares.
Yeah Brick, I absolutely realize how lucky I am. Both of my Sons have always stuck close to me, and I don't know what life would have been like without them. Just tonight I got to install the starter Dan ordered for my T, and although he has lots to buy for his own car, he still keeps surprising me with parts for mine. The fact that he gave me the entire evening last night, when I'm sure he would have loved to work on his own car, means a lot to me too. He has a good heart.
Tomorrow I think I'll pick up the plugs and plug wire set so that I will have that one more thing out of the way. The guy at the auto parts store is going to let me spend some time in his back room measuring molded radiator hoses also. Hope I can find one that is close or that can be cut down to fit well.
Goal right now is to fire the engine by mid to late August.

Don, the way your going I think you'll have fired up earlier than you think.
By the way, Lucky is a cute cat. He sure is lucky you son saved him, but heck that was only one of his nine lives.Duane S

Don, I use a heavy wire to form the shape of the hose. So when I go thru about 5o hoses to find the one to cut down at least it has the turns and angles I need. Hope that helps..............and by the way no whips. LOL
I believe in the reward system cold beer, good food, and cake.

Don, this thing is comming along very nicely. It has the stance that I like in a T and the style with the engine, wheels, and paint scheme. Exactly how I like an old roadster or T bucket or 30's pickup. I haven't been on much because of work and working on my own hot rods instead of on the computer but I read my emails and still keeping up with this thread. When your all done I plan to go to page one and read all of the pages because I know I have missed a bit of information on here which I'd like to learn for when I do a 27 T.www.streamlineautocare.com

Don, I found some universal flex hoses - ribbed with a wire coil inserted - and found one for both top and bottom. The one on bottom even had 1-1/2" on one end and 1 3/4" on the other end. No adaptor required.
The top one could be a little longer. I'll change it someday.Jack

Some mandrel bent stainless tubing and a couple of short hoses and some clamps works well, too. I've seen the chrome bendable hoses on eBay, never have tried a set, no idea how they really look or work though....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Brad: Cold beer and cake.......the breakfast of Champions. Good idea about the wire. I've got some tig wire that will work fine for that.
FMX, thanks for the kind words, and nice to hear from you again. Wondered where you have been. If you go back and read everything you are going to have to sift through lots of stuff like cat talk, pictures of pretty (?) women Uncle Bob insists on posting , and several pages of recipes. But hidden among all that stuff is some car building going on too.
Jack and Dave, thanks for the tips on both of those. I'll measure the inlets and outlets on engine and radiator before I go to the store.......good points.
Got a little sanding done on the body today, but mostly Dan and I spent the day putting 4 fans on the wall. It was unGodly hot in there, so we decided to see if we could get some air moving. It did improve the temperature somewhat, and the air moving over us makes you feel cooler too.
I've decided to keep moving ahead with the body prep, that way when my buddy takes it to paint he should have less to do. Should drop the price a little too if he has less work on it. I built a rack to put the body on today so it is about two feet higher off the ground.......sure made it easier to sand that way.

Okay, you don't like little kitties, and pictures of "babes"? How about a health tip from on of Don's friends in Florida?Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Thanks! It's the most metal forming I've done. I was wishing I had an English wheel and a planishing hammer.
