You mean it isn't going to be a 4 speed?
I was think it was all this time - I guess I should read the posts and not just look at the pictures....

No, it was going to be the 3 speed that is in the pix, but the first time I got to sit in it I realized there was no room for 3 pedals. I'm kind of bummed about that, but life goes on. I really wanted the car to be a stick, but T buckets are so tight, especially this one with the engine higher than normal, that it just wasn't to be.
Oh well, I'll put a turbo 350 in it with a shift kit and stall convertor and be happy with that, I guess.

Yeah, they were, and I even thought of my old bug eye Austin Healy Sprite. There was very little room in that footwell too, but they got 3 pedals in there. I even was going to reengineer the shift linkage and move th shifter over more to the passenger side, but I can't see any way to do it and be comfortable What has done me in on this one is the lowness I wanted to achieve. It put everything down low and the transmission in my lap.
The 350 won't be too bad, and with the tall tires and automatic rear axle I'm using the gear ratio will probably work out better. That was another concern, with the stick my final drive ratio was going to be really high.
Plus, now that I am freeing up some space I will have room for the air conditioning and DVD player with plasma TV.

That was just a joke Brian. Just welcoming some new fellow Canadians to the forum.

Thanks Pat. Yeah, I'd be happy to come to Michigan, but only in the warm months. I went to Minnesota last January and it was "unseasonably warm"...28 degrees. I thought I would freeze while trying to pump gas into my rental car.
Don
Bring suntan lotion when you come.
