In highschool, my car was still in pieces at the autoshop at school when a hot cheerleader walked up and asked if i'd give her a ride home, man I was never so pissed at my car as that moment!

I believe I'd had trouble seeing the car too and bright wouldn't have had anything to do with it.

Thanks. I certainly no photographer, but I took the tips Uncle Bob posted and they did help. I didn't get a chance to borrow a tripod from my Ex, so I took one from one of our worklights and laid the camera on it to steady myself.

I sent the pictures to a new hot rod magazine that is just starting up. He and I have traded emails before the car was done, and he told me to send some and some info when it was finished. He emailed me back yesterday and said I would be in issue number two. That's pretty cool. I think the green bikini helped.

I have noticed that as well Jack. I think there are still ghosts in the machine!

Hmmm. For a change, my computer seems to be working ok. No red X's, but the site does go down from time to time.

I thought you guys might get a laugh out of this. I just sent my Son Don the following email and the pictures of the bikini chick:

Hi Don:

I thought I'd send you some pictures of my T. A girl I met and I went to the beach yesterday. She insisted on taking her girlfriend along, but that was ok.

Her name is Brigette, and shes the one in the green bikini. She is trying to move the relationship along too fast, talking about becoming your new Mom and stuff like that. But she is a nice kid, I think you would like her.

Dan met her, but he kept hitting on her, so he won't be seeing her much any more.

Whoops, shes knocking on the door right now, gotta go. She has already moved some of her stuff in, so do you think she is getting too serious?

Glad to see your having fun with the new T don, dont you just love living in florida? Where else can you just go out on a random day and get photo`s like that! Are you gonna bring her along for billetproof? Or are you gonna roll the dice and see if you can find a new one on the way?

It's kinda like the time I told my Girlfriend that when she turned 40 I was going to trade her in for two 20 year olds. Her reply was " don't worry Honey, you aren't wired for 220." Guess she told me.

If every weekend were as productive as this one, Dan's car would be running in no time. We got some major stuff done Saturday and Sunday. Of course, we didn't leave the shop until 5:30 Sunday morning and went back again Sunday afternoon, but those hours really paid off.

We finally wrapped up mounting his quarter eliptic springs in the rear. He settled on one way of doing it, after rejecting about 10 different ways ( ) and got the brackets built and welded on. It works pretty well and gives him a bunch of ride height adjustment just by turning two bolts per side looser or tighter. Thank God that is finally out of the way.......I thought we were never going to get that task done.

Then we were able to mock the engine and tranny back on the frame and put the body back on temporarily to see where the car would sit. The bed was the last thing we got done, and it needed a c section taken out of each side for the rear axle assembly to go up into. Once the lower skirt was installed all the suspension is pretty well hidden from sight, but since he is going to leave all the workings exposed in the bed people will be able to see the entire rear suspension setup by looking into the bed .

The 1940 Ford wheels he bought on Ebay showed up Saturday and they are really nice. Tomorrow I have to take them and two others he has to the powder coaters to be coated black. The extra two wheels will mount some Hurst slicks that he will alternate using for shows and stuff.

So here are some pictures of what we ended up with tonight. We also sent his axles back to Moser to have them redrilled for a 5 on 5.5 pattern.

Thanks Steve. I am really enjoying helping him put it together. Aside from spending time together it is nice spending someone elses money for a change.

Today I took his wheels to the powdercoater. He bought 4 '40 Ford wheels on Ebay that were nice and he already had two on the front of his rod, so they are going to do all 6. He is going to put Hurst slicks on the other 2 just for shows and cruises.

Quite an operation over at the powdercoaters place. Two booths outdoors doing nothing but sandblasting all day, and a huge facility doing all kinds of stuff in powdercoat.........everything from car stuff to huge dumpsters and cabinets. We have never had anything powdercoated so we are anxious to see how they come out. He's going with gloss black.
