Don thats what made me buy a vise for my drill press, I wasn't wearing gloves at the time while drilling and L bracket. I was sure I could hold it to drill one small hole. The hole I drilled ended up in my hand.

Same here, I was drilling holes in the gusset's on my fuel tank bracket's I had a good grip, and then I had one less fingernail . I thought I had wrapped all my fingers around the others. All that with a vise 2 feet away.

Ouch. It's always that one little job that we just want to zip through that gets us. There are lots of tools in our garages that can hurt us real fast if we give them the chance.

You can bet I'll be more respectful of that drill press the next time. Hand is a little sore today, but I'm really grateful that's all I got out of it.

No, just my pride. Thanks for asking though. Did something stupid, tried holding a washer while drilling through it on the drillpress, bit grabbed and wrapped my arm around the spinning bit. Nothing broke, just a few cuts and bruises.

My "Father" (Dan my Son) chewed me out for not being more careful when I told him about it. I told him "look, I can hurt myself all I want, and you can't do anything about it........na na na."

    I'm grounded for a week.

UPS truck just showed up with some Speedway stuff to paint, so I'm sneaking out of here before he gets home from work.

    Glad to hear you're OK.

About 5 years ago my dad lost a finger to a drill press accident. It wasn't pretty. He's 72 now.
