    My "New Age" Hot Rod...

Since I'm posting, I thought I'd share some pics of my current ride. Some of you may have seen it in the "New Members" section, but here are more pics...

It's a 2001 Ford Focus ZX3, lowered 2.5" with SC Racing springs, 17 x 7.5" Motegi MR12's on 205/40 Sumitomo HTRZ II tires. I've added a Fiber Images carbon fiber hood, Kaminari front lip, tinted the windows and most importantly, designed and sprayed the paint myself. It's all DuPont Chromabase and it was my first paintjob ever after a 14 week class.

Let me know your thoughts...whether you like it or hate it. I know it's not a true Hot Rod, but I like to think of myself as a New Age Hot Rodder.

Here's a close-up of the blue metalflake I put in the black stripe...

    Just for the record...if I could afford one, I'd have a 1966 Chevelle or a 32 Highboy.

Yep, your car EXACTLY fits as a modern hot rod. You have taken a factory vehicle and personalized it to suit your taste and better do the things that you want it to do.

Yeah nice car, dont consider it a hot rod at all though, im really partial to riceburners. I personally think if it had it v8 in it it might be "considered" a "new age hot-rod" i think thats what its all about though, the sound of muscle coming down the road. Again nice car, BUT i never ate rice so i wont ever drive it.

How much does a new ford focus go for anyways? what 12k?? And in my opinion a new mustang isnt a ricer or a rod, BUT it could be considered a "new age rod" eventually.

Lets see do I like it or hate it? Tell you what click Here to find out, that is my team, my club. But on a more personal level I like it, as long as it doesnt carry that sound that most ricers have, you know the one its sounds like "Mario Kart" for nintendo 64.
