30 hours would be about 3 days travel time for me . Not into long hauling it anymore . If we have it planned for 2 years also should have the 37 rolling . Just received the TCI rear spring kit the other day .

I just got back after 7 days on the road. I got as far west as Ohio to see my brother and his family. Then down thru Kentucky and back into Pennsylvania then Mass. I'm glad that's over! LOL.. It should be a distant memory in 2 years and I'll be rarin' to go!

The Internet is great, we can swap photos over long distances and travel to regional meets but it spoils us relative to distance. Hey why don't we meet in Australia? We are building the wrong roadsters, we should be building open cockpit biplanes or restoring DC3s!

Don, It always scares me when you make an appearance

And I'll be in your fair state tomorrow for 3-4 days, but in the far reaches - i.e. Rocky Mount/Smith Mountain Lake area, again house hunting (I'm at NSRA - York, PA now)

Well Dave if you swing East to I95 at Richmond give me a call I am in the phone book. This is my last week before teaching a summer course and I will be converting my PC manuscript to paper in the coming week but if I know you are coming I will be here very close to the Elmont/Atlee exit on I95.

Got the engine coming along nicely . Still waiting on some good heads but the short block is all but done . Needs a new water pump and install the oil pan . Once the oil pan is on its back in frame so i can do the floors in the body .

Also striped down the front seats and the interior guy is sewing together the original material from lebaron bonney I ordered . That was the only material showing dry rot when I found the kit on craigs list .

Here the rear seat is already done and sitting in its spot .

Lookin' good Bobby. Nothing like a good old Ford Blue engine. As many as I've done, never painted one that color. They always get black.

The seats were a bit crusty but very salvageable.

I'll probably need to an update soon as well since I've had a couple days to putter with mine

I just wrote the check for my Grundy insurance policy $263 for 12 months for $40K value and hopefully will have the car on the road in the next couple of weeks. One mega outstanding problem - leaky C4 tranny. I thought that was a problem of the past, but it is BAD. I might have to use my spare as I'm almost convinced it's a cracked case.

Something I hadn't done for a while - I took it down the road today while our resident State Trooper (across the street) was at work. New set of black marks was the response to the 'loud' pedal.

Those seats while nice, way too tight for my 6'4" / 200# senior body to work the pedals very well and I just sold the Recaros(for a profit!!!!). Looking at some padded bomber's now, but we'll see what happens.

Well, Dave, it looks like you're definitely too tall for the car. I think you're going to have to ship it out here to me! LOL!
Congrats on getting it out there on the street! It looks great! Sorry about the trans leak. That sucks. Could it possibly be the seals just need to soften up when driven a little or is it worse than that?
Either way, it's inspiring to see it. I'm going to the annual LA Roadster Show this Saturday for some more inspiration on mine, then I need to get my butt in gear and get busy!!

Bobby, you're making some great progress on yours too! You guys are leaving me in your dust!

NICE! It sure is pretty! Did you leave the black marks in front of the troopers house? , sorry to learn you're still not pleased with the seats! Hope you find an easy answer!

I've been looking at Barrett Seats. Not quite bomber, but closehttp://www.barrettseats.com/indexhotrodseats.html

Their web site isn't the best, but they are in Durham, CT

    My bulb isn't always!

Interesting seats. Some of those are kinda a cross between a Tea's seat and a bomber. They are really "proud" of them too!$$
