Thanks for the kudos, Mikey! I've had a sway bar on the front for years but being a tall sedan, I still got a fair amount of body roll when cornering. The dropped spindles on the front and the lower rear springs should help but I added the rear sway bar just to be sure. It'll be a while before I can test it out but it's fun to dream about...

Randy - that is a real nice looking disc setup. Nice work!!! (Is that an 8" rear with the 2 dimples in the housing? If I recall we've talked about it before, but CRS......)

That sure is a stout looking sway bar. You shouldn't have much wander from that rear end - mine sure is solid and my sway bar isn't that big.

.....and speaking of rear ends - I just had to go buy a new jack as my little 2T Crapsman trolley blew this morning while putting my car on jack stands for me to move the rear forward. Harbor Freight had a visit and I bought a 3 Ton that will at least lift one end of my truck (and probably the reason the other 'died')

Thanks, Dave! It's a 9" housing from a '58 Ford car. I got the rear sway bar thru SAC Hotrods in Orange County, CA (no longer in business). They got these kits thru Chassis Engineering but had them tweaked to their own specs.

Sorry your trolley crapped out on you....

That diff - Ford and their wisdom!! I thought the '57 and '58 were the same (mine's a '57 with no dimples).

That trolley jack - not a problem. I'd been hoping for a reason to get a bigger floor jack. I still have a no-name that's also getting tired, but it just keeps on chugging, but wont lift my truck. HF had the new one on sale for $80, reduced from $100 for the first time since I started looking several months ago.

Now - as far as setting a high bar - who was that individual that dragged me around Essex County Fairgrounds last fall critiquing hood/front sheet metal alignments on several dozen '33-'34 Fords

Dave - I don't know about the dimples but I know I pulled it out from under a '58 Ford wagon myself when my dad and I were building the car. It's a small bearing rear end but I've read that some wagons of that era had large bearings. Some of the early 60's Galaxies had 2 dimples but also had a fill plug on the back. Mine has a drain plug on the bottom but no fill in the back.

Mike - Sounds like we've found a button to push if necessary...the "Mikey" button!

As for that "bar" thing......I'm just learning from you guys! I am plagued with champagne taste on a tap water budget, though. So, I'm just trying to find the balance......

OK, OK, OK... I'm busted! But now I'm paying the price trying to live up to my own expectations!

Well, Mikey, Mikey, Mikey , if you're planning to come out here and kick my A$$ you might as well make a vacation out of it and spend some time at the beach....
Besides, I could use some help on my car!

While a couple of you were fussin', I was out sweating gallons in my garage trying to reposition the differential of my car forward an inch and a bit. Unfortunately, those rear 4 bars need to be shortened about that much and being stainless, it might be a while. A hack saw just wont do it.

Oh and that new HF jack - works great. Now I just hope it lasts

Since you guys are having so much fun I will chime in . If ya remember I have the 37 farmed out for the sheet metal pics should be coming soon I hope

I have been here working on the 67 and the 31 perdy solid , there are the days though I come home and get the A/C nap in .

Down to the Hood and rt door skin to have the mustang for paint . The 31 I have all the engine parts now that I can fire it up soon but still want to lap the valves first . Getting the 28 oz stuff for this 69 302 took it a bit of shopping .

If I posted a while back I apologize I am still pic hungry

Bobby - this is NOT an exclusive thread. We EXPECT you to post what you have done

I do have to ask - how can you get that many projects going at once? Heck, I can't even keep my '31, my DD F350 and my wife's Escape clean. Then throw in a 34' 5th wheel trailer and a big house and even being retired have trouble keeping up

Randy, Randy, Randy.. If I was out there, the only help we'd give each other, is back onto our bar stools!

If I could drive mine down the street this afternoon, I'd be sweating buckets too! I've been waiting so long it seems like a lifetime!

Bobby, YES - please share with us! You always include pics too! You know how we "read" pics better them thar wurdz!

Well, for you "bucket sweaters" it hasn't broken 70 degrees here for a week!! In fact it's been hovering around 65 to 68.....brrrrrr! Hopefully, it'll warm up to 75 or 80 soon. That's optimum temp in my book!

Well here in my backyard part of the Great Northeast it is currently 88*F and scheduled to go to 90*+. That isn't the 'killer', it's the humidity which is now sitting on my humidistat at 94%. I'm puttering with my car, but my shirt is ready to wring out as the 88* outside translates to 92* in my garage with no breeze but a dying fan's whispers

It's the same thing here, I'm not close enough to the coast. If it's 90 outside the garage, then it's 5 to 8 degrees hotter inside! And that's just to much for me! I did do a little sanding over the weekend. Actually added some mud to bring the hood lines closer. But after an hour my clothes just seem to be stuck to me permanently. Even my sneakers squished on sunday!
