I`m running a weedeater axle from magnum axle 5.5 drop, with reversed sping eyes, I may add one more leaf tho, but haven`t committed to it yet, I `ve been noting all your improvements on the 9`inch, i have a`69 bronco housing at 58 inches, I located one `69 lincoln 31 spline right side axle for it, length is right for the left side bronco, now I just have to buy one axle for the right side, and looking for 300 or 310 posi third member and discs for it, its just fun doing the cheap.... But I do like your cobra setup....Toys

Bobby, I think it's going to be a little lower in the front than that pic. It's a long story but my Mustang II (old style) front end was installed a little higher to accomodate the Ford oil pan back in the day. I've since got a rear sump so I don't have those issues but the crossmember is still in the same place. I have plenty of room to drop the car a little lower. Will probably be more like Rich's.
Rich, my rearend is from a 58 Ford wagon @57.25". It's a small bearing rear end. I did the Cobra conversion on the cheap too. Had to pay $150 for the bracket kit. Got the calipers & rotors from craigslist in good shape. Bought new hoses at $16 each, plus new ceramic pads at $50. So, it wasn't too bad to make the switch."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

Desired ride height....
Here's a few examples of the approximate ride height I'm going for.....Ithink these a low enough to look cool and still be practical to drive on the street. Just have to watch for curbs..."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

Also, Bobby, if you haven't done anything with your clutch pedal yet, on page 143 of Bob Drake's new catalog he has a 39 Hydraulic Brake & Clutch Pedal Assembly that's designed to use the orignal 3 bolt MC or the later 2 bolt Ford MC with dual reservoir. pt#91A-2473-K, $250. Don't think it lets you use a power booster if you wanted power brakes. Looks like a nice bolt-on unit for 35-38 Fords if you don't want to hassle with re-working yours."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

Randy- Nice looking rear seat. They are comfortable and it looks great in your car, but a word of caution if you are not planning on reupolstering, the stitching has been known to bust open on those seats. I have not had trouble with mine yet (knock on wood), but it's something to think about.
Rich- do you have some more shots of your car? I really like the picture you posted.'35 Ford coupe- LT1/T56, '32 Ford pickup, 70 GTO convertible, 06 GTO
