Looks like progress to me. Agree that you need both drop some more and taller tire. That would probably be even more evident from a further away view.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Well Mike we will just have to teach ya !! LOL
Randy I agree with Dave for a prefit they follow the line really well , don't look like much work to tweak them right in . The sand blasting and primer does do a panel good for sure .

Mike - hope you are better now - Burlington will be upon us before you know it and there are lots of cars to "critique"
Don Shillady - no, we haven't moved to Virginia, but it isn't for lack of trying. Seven(or is it eight?) trips, averaging about 1800 miles which includes about 7-800 of them each time wandering the hills and dales of Bedford and Franklin counties mostly, with an occasional Botetourt County side trip have not found homes that meet our (read as the wife's, mostly for her bad back) needs. Another main reason such as location in the far back boonies as well have deterred us as well.

As I said somewhere above, I would provide dimensions, etc for the new box for the PC680 battery.
Built from mostly 3/4x3/4x.125 angle, .0625x3/4 cold roll and a piece of 1/8x1.5 flat stock. I also used a 6" Stanley hinge and a couple of pieces of 1/8 neoprene for vibration resistance, tho not as yet glued in place. The front 'latch' (hinge) has a piece of oak as well for a spacer - this still needs a wee bit of work, but is about as it will be when finished. I also tacked three nuts to attach the cover, which is yet to be made
I'll extend the bottom with another piece of steel for my latching solenoid mount which will be used to disconnect the battery. I'll eventually add that photo too.
Fun project. Total build time 2-3 hours with a couple cuppas.
And they will probably not be in the correct orderDave W

Nice work, Dave! You made good use of that hinge... Where did you say you're going to mount that? in the trunk? If I go with my plan to mount mine on the frame rail under the front passenger fender, I'll probably want to enclose the battery in a box of some kind to protect it from road rash & the elements. Perhaps I'll borrow some of your ideas when I get to that point...."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

Way kewl, Dave!!! Should work great! Now give that battery a good thorough checkout and let us know how it performs! Then if it doesn't work I won't have to waste my money on one!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Like the box, Dave. I've run mine down once when I had my crank fuel messed up and flooded the engine on a cold morning. Other than that it's been fine.Roger

Thanks guys - fun little project.
Randy - If you like the design, just skin it with some 18-22 ga or sheet ABS, cut and/or bent to size. I was going to mount it on the rear cross member that I added for the gas tank as it looked to be open, but when I tried to work there, no room for a tool, i.e. a drill and my hand, even my right angle drill. Then I considered the outside frame rail, LHS and that would have involved finding a new place for the ATF cooler ...... so, back in the trunk as any other location like a fender well will involve way too much rewiring.
More pictures coming when I'm ready to install it.
Roger and Dave - For sure I'll let you know how that battery works, especially with an Edelbrock carb that the E10 gas either drains back or evaporates. That wont be for a couple more months as we have 'slop' on the roadsDave W

Hi Guys! I made it! Other than a "reaction" to sedation which caused a 1 night stay in the hospital.. I'm on the road to recovery!
Randy, I prefer my beer to be ingested orally!
I still feel as tho' I've been whipped like a gov't mule but a huge improvement from last week, once all this swelling goes down I should feel like a young buck again!
Thanks to all for the well wishes! It meant / means a LOT!
