Like everything you do Randy, it looks awesome! I hadn't considered a rear sway bar but I see you have one and I've seen one on Dave's as well. I'm going to keep that in the back of my mind as I don't know how mine will react with only the front one. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kudos, Mikey! I've had a sway bar on the front for years but being a tall sedan, I still got a fair amount of body roll when cornering. The dropped spindles on the front and the lower rear springs should help but I added the rear sway bar just to be sure. It'll be a while before I can test it out but it's fun to dream about..."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells

That diff - Ford and their wisdom!! I thought the '57 and '58 were the same (mine's a '57 with no dimples).
That trolley jack - not a problem. I'd been hoping for a reason to get a bigger floor jack. I still have a no-name that's also getting tired, but it just keeps on chugging, but wont lift my truck. HF had the new one on sale for $80, reduced from $100 for the first time since I started looking several months ago.
Now - as far as setting a high bar - who was that individual that dragged me around Essex County Fairgrounds last fall critiquing hood/front sheet metal alignments on several dozen '33-'34 FordsDave W

Dave - I don't know about the dimples but I know I pulled it out from under a '58 Ford wagon myself when my dad and I were building the car. It's a small bearing rear end but I've read that some wagons of that era had large bearings. Some of the early 60's Galaxies had 2 dimples but also had a fill plug on the back. Mine has a drain plug on the bottom but no fill in the back.
Mike - Sounds like we've found a button to push if necessary...the "Mikey" button!
As for that "bar" thing......I'm just learning from you guys!I am plagued with champagne taste on a tap water budget, though.
So, I'm just trying to find the balance......

While a couple of you were fussin', I was out sweating gallons in my garage trying to reposition the differential of my car forward an inch and a bit. Unfortunately, those rear 4 bars need to be shortened about that much and being stainless, it might be a while. A hack saw just wont do it.
Oh and that new HF jack - works great. Now I just hope it lastsDave W

Randy, Randy, Randy.. If I was out there, the only help we'd give each other, is back onto our bar stools!
If I could drive mine down the street this afternoon, I'd be sweating buckets too! I've been waiting so long it seems like a lifetime!
