Randy - if you only lived a bit closer I would let you borrow my Black Hawk Porta-Power. Those little dings only need a bit of a push or pull to make it again a daily driver (yeah, sure they do)
I absolutely would not let the insurance company total that neat truck. While it's a fairly easy fix up in comparison to some, a salvage title becomes a real problem when it come time to sell regardless of the age or as sold condition (at least here on the Right Coast/NY State). I would "force" the ins. co. to ante up as many Bens as possible, then make it drivable until it can be totally redone. Possibly you can work a deal with the owner of the car to cough up a few more bucks
Good luckDave W

Yeah, Bobby, I'm definitely glad I wasn't in it!!! It's funny, I've hated that back bumper since I bought the truck but it came in handy this time.
I'm haggling with the insurance co. over what is going to be done about it. I took the bumpers off today to get a better look. The frame is not bent but the left I-beam is. It would be easy to straighten or just get another one at the salvage yard. The rear quarter is the most challenging part but I've found an end cap so the rest just be pulling the panel out and attaching the new part. New bumpers are repop and easy to get.
I've given them the terms the I feel would be best for all concerned but I haven't heard back from them yet. We'll see what happens....."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Wells
