    Polishing aluminum - again.

About how long will it take me to polish two of these hood supports? They're 1 x 1/2 bar stock, about 38" long. I've got a buffer motor, sewn and loose buffs and white, tripoli and jewlers' compounds. I also have an electric random orbital, an air DA and a whole bunch of sandpaper wet/dry from 220 to 2000.

I'd prefer to do most of it on the buffing wheels.

It goes fairly fast. At least faster than you might think. I polished everything here, the center section was a cast pc. that had to be sanded & then polished. Diid most of the sanding with a D.A. Some parts made on the lathe got polished while still in the chuck and the CNC parts I polished by using rubbing compound and a cheap pair of work gloves.

The question is; How long did it take to get the Black compound off of his body and clothes....... Seriously, those look great.
