Sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. True hot rodders are also true pack rats. So you probably should have that old catallog stuffed in something some where. Find it, copy it, send it and then rub their noses in it.
Could be the rude individual you talked to has only been with the company for a year or two and knows no history of what they might have offered before. But in any case they should never have been so rude to hang up on a customer. Not only bad form, but sheer ignorance to boot.Bob

Just curious what catalog you have that shows 31 spline axles. I've never seen a supplier spec them unless it's a special order.
Do you have an order form, receipt, etc., to help back up your position?
Bill, I'm not doubting you at all. It's just that I've worked with Jason and Jerry Slover for years, and have found them to be nothing but polite and helpful.Jack

I'm not doubting you either, but I think pretty much all the aftermarket guys would use 28 spline as a production line item, and then possibly upgrade to 31 spines for more $$. I have bought stuff from P and J when it was really Pete and Jake, and also from the new company, and everything has been good so far. The logic is that 28 spines are really fine for most street applications, and that is the bulk of their market probably.
Please understand, you may be totally correct, but is there a slim chance you just read the catalog wrong?? If you can come up with a copy, as mentioned, that would cinch it IMO.

.....I will have to find the catalog. And yes, I could be mistaken but I don't think so as I've looked at the catalog many times. I'm like 100% sure! Pack rat isn't the word for it! I never throw anything away!!! {unless, it's something that I end up needing later!!!}..... I'll look & if I can't find it I'll errase these posts. That's only fair to them no matter how sure I am of what I read..... It just REALLY upset me as I had a driveline shop rebuilt my modular iron center section w/ a true track that was set up for 31 spline axles. I took it in the shop yesterday to have them itstall it & build a stronger driveshaft. Then I get a call from them this am r/e "you have 28 spline axles"..... thanks, Bill

Bill,
I have a 2000 P&J catalog, and the only place they mention 31 spline axles is in the section for Winters QC rear end assemblies.9 Inch Ford Rear Housings
#8090 Stage I: 56" wide overall axle flange to flange
#8091 Stage II: add new drum brakes
#8092 Stage II: add 3.00 gearWinter's "New Generation V8" Quick Change Rear End Assembly
- Assembly includes 8 3/8" 3.78 ring and pinion
- Unit comes with Ford flanged 31 spline axles
- Comes complete less brakes
Just passing on the info that I have.Last edited by Henry Rifle; 07-18-2007 at 04:06 PM.

....Thanks for finding that for me Jack, I can't find my catalog & I was going to ask if anyone had an older one {I looked on their web site & didn't see it}. I'm really baffled as I'm sure that I read 31 spline axles. BUT if you've got a 2000 catalog & it doesn't say 31 then I'm wrong cuz my catalog would be after the year 2000. Is the catalog that you have about 6 to 7" tall & 8, 9 or maybe 10" long??? And on the page where it shows the 'complete 32 chassis' {on the left side of catalog} it doesn't say "all complete chassis come with a 9" rear end & 31 spline axles"???? THANKS again, Bill
PS, AH, SORRY PETE, SORRY JAKE!!!! ;0Last edited by billlsbird; 07-23-2007 at 03:16 AM.
