[QUOTE=Matt167 1 thing about them tho, is I know that the frames tend to rust out. [/QUOTE]
I have three of these trucks and I haven't seen any rust problems on my frames at all. floorborards, rockers and fenders are very much a problem though, you can literaly watch them rot away daily once they start to rust
Shouldn't be a problem on mine since most of the rusted metal isn't going to be reinstalled anywaysGo ahead and tell me what you think, just don't expect me to change my mind.

scotter homes or just the things that come up allways take some build time away . Truck is going to look good and like you said there is going to be some sheet metal work in the fill areas . Keep getting to it when you can alittle at a time is progress.

Well I stumbled again, my centry welder gave up the ghost. it wont even give me a decent tack weld anymore. So I am looking to buy a new MIG. I am concidering the Millermatic 180 and I have posted a question about it in the shoptalk section. - http://www.clubhotrod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34020Last edited by scotter; 11-05-2007 at 08:19 PM.

Well I haven't done much with the truck lately, but I did get the millermatic and I love it. I also have a complete Jag IRS/IFS setup for the truck now.
My plan is to completely rework the frame and build a full cage structure. The cab will be welded solid to the chassis and cage. and should be very rigid.
The seats I picked out will not fit in the cab so I will have to build some instead. With the doors only 24" tall and seats that are basically part of the floorpan getting into the truck will probably be like getting into a pair of undersized church shoes.
I have also tore down my 383 BB and it looks like a quick overhaul will get it back in running order. I am going to swap in some flat top pistons to raise the comp. and upgrade the cam but that it for now. I will build up the other 383 down the road and get a little more wild with it.
I dont expect to get much done this winter as I have lost my shop space but will do a little here and there when I get the chance. I'l post more Pics as I reach certain milestonesGo ahead and tell me what you think, just don't expect me to change my mind.

Come on now, Scooter. It's been over a year since we saw a picture. Let's have some!

A year ?? Holy crap where has the time gone ??
not much has changed other than I took it all apart again and layed the windshield back a little more (just so I could cause more alignment problems LOL) I have also been working on the engine a bit. The truck is tarped down in the driveway right now. I'll see if I can find the camera and get a decent picture of something later on today
As you may know my daughter has a 72 courier, we have aquired a donor vehicle for a 302 conversion on her truck- it will probably get priority as I promised to have hers on the road by summerGo ahead and tell me what you think, just don't expect me to change my mind.

Well I got my shop space back and am getting set up to build my daughter truck with her but I also am working towards my trucks completion also. I worked hard Yesterday - I pulled the front suspension from the donor and will pull the rear suspension later this week.
It's a real nice unit all self contained with power rack and pinion steering - I did not even have to disconnect the pump and hoses every thing came out nicely, the only catch was having to pull the engine and tranny first, that was no easy chore and took most of the time I spent on it. I just thought I'd share that I was again making some progress.....
I just re-read through this thread and boy did I get off-track - so much for ambition, now that I have some shop space and a new miller welder perhaps I can get back on track. Still working on the house and now a truck for my daughter so I'm sure it will be slow goingLast edited by scotter; 01-22-2009 at 03:42 PM.

Cool, glad to see you back on it!
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
