carb and intake...
Had my 454 rebuilt...(twice)..."and" it is using about a qt of oil every 200-300 miles....
oil puddles on the intake so we're assuming the intake and block are not on the same plane...
Anyone know anything about this?...and any opinions about what intake and carb to use for good mileage?....(I get about 8 miles per gal now)..

no i build big blocks . that is not a common problem with them. could be blowing it out the valve covers and settling down in the intake. or the intake is not flat but should be sucking vacuum or leaking water to ? the china walls on the intake could also holding up the intake to or just bad valve seal s guilds rings brunt down piston or just bad machine work. i would say the rings are not or never have sealed upLast edited by pat mccarthy; 07-30-2007 at 05:54 PM.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
