1966 dodge charger wiring.
my dad just bought a 1966 Dodge Charger, that was once restored but now needs re done, it's a 383 4bb/ 727 auto, the previouse owners screwed up the wiring pretty bad when they put in a new fuse block ( robbed from another mopar, original shorted, we got it with the car ) everything works, except the neutral safty switch ( bypassed, and a toggle works the reverse lights ) and they cut the wires to the headlight rotating motors because they ran the battery dead, so were probably going to rewire it with the correct painless kit, but were not shure on how the motors stop after they reached the stop point, I know there is a signal wire for it, but not shure how it works, must be thru a relay somehow, anybody got a diagram? or a clue how they work? You don't know what you've got til it's gone

here is a link to a 1966 Charger shop manual reprint for $20. It would be worth it if the wiring is dorked.

Thats a great car and should be pretty self explanitory to do. I have a friend that has all the original factory books on that car. Keep us up on the progress Matt."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

yeah, I like it. it's grey with green interior, the 383 sounds real nice, has a camshaft ground to factory 426 hemi specs. it just needs exterior cosmetic restoration and the wiring needs gone thru at least, and the seat foam is deteriorating so it does need that replaced, but the covers are excelent. and the head liner needs replaced. the previouse owner has the original window tag and she is going to get it to us. it also still has the little metal card that identifies the car to the original owner, in the pouch in the engine compartment. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

But are the tail light lenses broken??? That's the $$$ problem with these cars....they break if you look at them and they are pricey.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
