    What's it worth?

A friiend of mine is a used car dealer and he goes to several wholesale auctions every week...he's going to one tomorrow where they're going to run a 1938 Ford Pickup. He looked at it today and says it appears to be in pretty good shape, looks like it was restored maybe 15-20 years ago.
Stock with a Ford Flathead V8.
He knows new car values, but is clueless on something like this, but given the venue thinks that maybe he might be able to sneak it out...any ideas on what something like this is worth?
Sorry I don't have much more info...my next stop is ebay to see what they've been selling for. I told him it'd be worth more if it was hot-rodded than as a restored original car...is that true?
BTW he is a body man, so he knows what to lok for as far as the "true" condition (a nice paint job doen't fool him).

It is hard to tell without seeing it, if it is a driver with a good drivetrian and the paint is ok it could still get 10K or more. Try looking on "Deals on Wheels" also.
