how much would you pay (pics)
HI,
I have gotten myself in some financial issues and am going to have to sell my truck that I got built for me when i was 15. I am just wondering if anyone could tell me a ball park figure on what to expect to get for it.
Its a 63 chevy c10 long bed with a straight body but has 10 yr old paint on it. The paint job is from "miracle" which is a cheap little outfit out here. The hood needs a lot of work and is a different color from the truck and thats the worst part.
As for the interior, It has two bucket seats with two 5 point harnesses and new carpet. It has all autometer gauges and no radio, ac, heat, and one of the door handles is stripped.
The drive train is a th400 with a 2800-3200 b&m stall with a brand new set of 3.73's in the stock rearend with a limited slip posi. The wheels are some ugly things with mickey thompsons street slicks in the back and just some regular tires in front.
Now for the best part, Then engine. Its a 454 with about 500 miles on it thats about 3 years old. Its rated at about 500 hp. It has stock crankshaft and stock rods, but has srp pistons, edelbrock aluminum perfromer rpm polished heads, Isky 292 cam, isky valve train, super victor intake, and 750 hp holley carb.
The rims and hood are the biggest disapointments or flaws on the truck. Would it be cost effective to replace those two things even though I dont have the money or even replacing those will I not even get the money back with replacing those two?
I have put about 15K in this truck including the purchase of the truck so of course Im going to be expecting more than what anyone will pay for it, but Im thinking arount $9K. what do you guys think?
thanx

5-6k is about all I'd pay, fix the hood match it's paint color, and get some cheap decent looking wheels, then you can get more out of it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Pics would be better to help with some what of a idea. I would still want a drive to finish sale . Some vehicles are worth more for rarity and some because of build and detail . post some pics top bottom what ever you can point at with a cam .
The 31 in my avatar is common but the fact that there is no rust or rot in this one should make it more desirable . Not meaning its worth more but very much more attractable to someone.Last edited by bluestang67; 08-15-2007 at 09:01 PM.

Ya ... post some pix and I'll tell you what I'd give ya .
If you were standing in front of me telling me about it, just as you wrote, I wouldn't give you much at all. Maybe some pictures will change my mind.
I would not buy more stuff to try and recoup your loss... unless your going to go all out and do it right ,( and are very good at finding deals) then you might get lucky ??$? and find some one with more money then since or just falls in love with it .
just like Denny said "I'm not knocking" ya, this is what you asked.
good luck
