the casting on the manifold should be X code then, if it's a real experimental. all experimental Ford parts are marked with an X casting number. would be XD6 I think, meaning experimental 1966, because all Ford engines at that time and maby still are, backdated 1 year, so the engine is actully a '66 if it's original. X= Experiamental D= 1960 decade 6= 6th year.

Hey, no problem, Bobby. I rather see someone get good use out of this carb than keep it hanging around serving no purpose. Like I said, it's not been used since 89 or 90 just cause my FE's since then have been multi-carbed. And of course no where near original FE vehicles.

Rather give it to some who can use it than throw it away while cleaning out my home.

I've also got a BW T-10 4spd for a early FE big car (galaxie) that is apart and and I would sell it. Has the 49 to 64 bellhousing bolt pattern.

I had it rebuilt by a trans shop in WA state in 90 and they put it together with the thrust washer on the wrong side of second gear. I have never bothered to fix it.

That I would want some money for and it wouldn't work well in your Mustang but maybe someone else on here could use it.

Well, I am working on trying to get a garage built. Right now my shed is full of stuff and I have stuff stored in my brothers basement too.

I am really trying to get rid of some of it.

And i have a wanted out on craigs list for a 4 spd . I did get a couple hits for a small block 4 spd . One is a close ratio and other is a wide . Guy i talked to said it will work but I will have to have a longer pilot bearing made for it .

Sounds like you may have some hard to find parts . Ebay is a long process but Craigs list is free and gets done alot faster .

"SK" parts were parts made for vehicles of 50 or less. If more than 50 it was upgraded to a "XE" part and treated as a pre production experimental. I think there was a XD part like Matt mentioned. Those seem to ring a bell with the aussie made cars for some reason tho?

    Interesting on the X code thing. With cougars there was a X code option in 68 only. 390 2v 10.5:1 comp and 265hp @4400, 403tq @2500.

One of my two 68 Torino's had this motor. I don't remember an X code associated with it but then again (1972-1973) I wasn't up on Ford codes and just bought what I liked.

P.S. the other 68 was a rare late model with a 428 CJ and I traded it in on a new car. So I was really off the curve at the time. If I had known then what I know now it would still belong to me.

FFR so it seems even the X code isnt to shabby power wise . I didnt see any specs on a x other then there were a hand full in 67 and the same in 68 .
