34 or 35 rat type rod

Starting to plan a new car and have a choise of cabs 34 or 35 both nice. Looking for ideas in frames. I have a 35 but also have enough 2x4 .125 wall tube. Can't decide if I want front spring on top of 4" drop axel and in stock 34location or mount spring to split bones and let just the axel sit in front of grill? The first requires a kik up in the front? the second I think does not.
It will be channeled 4" leaving 1" of frame showing under cab. Is there anyone doing or have done something like this?

the 34 and 35 would be completely different frames. Either car should have a frame made for that year of cab. '34 frames are very swoopy and good looking!!! Better decide if you're going to run a suicide front axle or spring on top of the axle. With a 4" drop front axle, oil pan clearance gets tight the way it is... Why split wishbones???? 4 bars work much better and don't get the axle in a bind...and now everyone will tell you that split wishbones are fine.....

What is your reasoning on leaving 1 inch of frame showing? Usually you want to hide it totally.

As for the spring behind, sure, you can mount it to the wishbones and run a suicide style front set up.

    Thanks
Don your set up is close to what I was thinking except I want to run frame over top of spring and end it there. Trying to keep spring where it would be normaly and place axle just enough ahead to clear front of grill. Also using the dog leg style bones and runing drag link behind link. Stearing may be from cowel or Vega because thinking of running a hood to hide A/C. Car is for LA CA. Pinch the frame to be closer to grill.
Dave only gave a list of what I had to start with. You are correct about frame and four bars.........Jim
