I have been working on finishing the floor. It stops about 8 inches from the rear of the car. In that area I will build a firewall, behind that will be the gas tank, battery, and fuel system.
Also I got the firewall in. I made the bottom portion removable so It will drop down and slide out with the motor in place.

I bent a piece of 18 gage steel and cut slots in it so I could bend it to get the radius of the roof back in it's original shape, then screwed the roof to it and tack welded the slits back up. The roof will be filled with a smooth look. I'm not going to do this. it will be farmed out. The angle iron will be removed.
Another shot of the removable firewall. I'm working on the grill shell mounting bracket. the overfill tanks will be Incorporated into this.

Looks like you are getting a lot of the strength and shape back into the body. I keep forgetting to ask you, there was a period where you were having ignition problems with the roadster, did you get that figured out?

Don-What a hassle that was. It was a computer compatible issue. The computer was set up to recognize a magnetic pick up distributor, which I had in it for 4 years. When I decided to freshen the motor up I set it back to Vertex to have it checked. they called me and said they have a new one that used an internal coil, would I be interested in trying it. I was able to clean the motor up a little by getting rid of the coil and the wiring. But it used a different style of signal that my computer didn't recognize. So after a week of tearing this thing apart, the blower has to come off to get the distributor out, we finally figured it out. Vertex was really good to work with, they did everything they could to help.
Dave- You can come out here and bring all your drawings of what you want to build and you can use anything I have, if I don't have what you need I have friends that do. You can stay with us and I give you my wifes car to drive

Steve- When is your next visit? I hope you can have more time for car stuff next time. There is 580 miles on it. It's mostly sitting, I haven't given it any time.

Ken I'm going in for a surgery on my palate in one month. Will be out of work for a few weeks eating up my sick time and vacation. I hope to be out your way next spring though! Who knows by then I may have made some progress on the truck!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Might even build myself a drag car for a change!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I haven't got much done, I have the motor mounts in. I'm going to put a mid set of mounts right in front of the transmission off the bell housing, because of the span between the front and rear mounts. I have more done but this is all I have in photo's at home. I'll post more next week. Thanks for asking.
