We have cleaned our act up.......its the factories that were given emission credits ,basically just do not pollute anymore than you already are ,mexico ,which is pollutin from our investments ,no enviromental laws down there.
They were able to pull up lead samples from the north pole on when we were in the lead age and camp fires polluted the earth before there were even cars or factories.
They came for the green people ,I was not green so I did not stop them. They came for the reds ,I was not red so I did not stop them ,they came for the blues ,I was not blue soo I did not stop them ,then they came for ME ...................
Sorry to degrade ,in some peoples eyes, this to shootin talk ,but thats what started this great country is killin .
I will die for my freedom, right to drive my hotrod, and my way of life.

Like I have said before I am willing to kill and die at the end of my driveway for what i believe.I hope they feel that strongly about cleanin up the earth or taking my hotrod, because thats the sacrifice that will be needed from them to take my freedoms away.
Look at it this way ,you are being held accountable for a manufactures limited product, they only make a gas burner and thats all you can buy to drive to work, but its" your "fault that the polution is on the earth ,not the company that only provides a polluter......?
You are given one option and then told its your fault when you buy that option...... They got you guys sukkered in......The big factory and manufactures have laid the blame on our backs and people accept this...lol

    Did you design the car....?
    Did you manufacture the car...?
Did you set the pollution limits....?
Did they ask you for any input......?

If you can answer yes to any of these then its your fault ,if you answered no,thats the same answer to the question ,is pollution your fault...

Soo my question to you is ,will you let them trick you into believing its your fault and let them take away your freedoms based on a situation thats out of our hands.....we have no say in and are being tricked into believing its our fault.
If there are 95 percent of the cars running emmissions equipment, like they say ,then where is all the pollution coming from ,.....5 percent of the cars with no pollution equipment.... That 5 percent is keeping the pollution at the same level or higher for the last 10 years ....c-mon thats unbelievable even for a layman like me..... I bet its the factories that have not cut emmisions {which would be every single one of em} as they were not mandated to cut ,they were mandated just to not increase them anymore.
Now we are the ones responsible and have to pay to clean it up,we have to sacrifice to clean it up and we have to be restricted to clean it up,possibly forfiet our rights to clean it up...............
I am sorry ,the guns worked just fine when we left the brittish, slaughtered the indians and killed ourselves{civil war} ,they will get the job done again, just like history has shown over the last 10 thousand years.......
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

We need to join into organizations like SEMASAN (www.semasan.com) that are gaurding our interests and the interests of the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers. If you have not signed up, you need to. It's free! What they want from us is our numbers so they can go to our legislators and say they represent thousands or even millions of people. They have had some great success in the last year with securing hot rodder friendly laws in many states.

Don't sit here and whine or cry in your beer about the future, do this small thing and stay informed. Join now!

    URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT
    (HEARING NOTICE)
Backyard Vehicle Restoration Jobs Under Siege Again In Illinois; Harmful Inoperable Vehicle Bill to be Heard on March 6
A bill (H.B. 367) introduced in the Illinois House of Representatives that would further restrict the ability of Illinois vehicle hobbyists from maintaining inoperable vehicles on private property will be considered by the House Transportation and Motor Vehicles Committee on Tuesday, March 6. H.B. 367 would redefine “inoperable motor vehicles” to include vehicles incapable of being lawfully driven on state highways in full accordance with Illinois vehicle laws. The bill would also expand the definition of inoperable vehicles to include dismantled and unlicensed vehicles. Under current law, localities may authorize fines and disposal of inoperable vehicles on public and private property.

I now have 2" thick walls in concrete.

IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT AS LONG AS YOU PAY A YEARLY LICENSE PLATE TAX, IT WOULD PROBABLY NOT BE CONSIDERED INOPERABLE. I THINK THAT IS CALLED COMMUNISM, NOT SURE, BUT IN ANY INSTANCE, YOU HAVE TO PAY, OR THEY TAKE IT FROM YOU.

I think I will have to learn how to MOOOOO, and get a shinny nose ring pretty soon. so they can lead me to the slaughter.
I just went through that crap with my nieghborhood acosication.. And ya know what... My 64 still sits in my drive..

I think instead of messing with the ones they feel easiest to run over the common man with a hot rod they need to crack down on the smoke stac factories and corp america..
They have already cracked down on smoke stack factories, and if it wasn't for the "corporate America" that you seem to dislike, you wouldn't even have a car. You wouldn't have a TV, a refrigerator, or power coming into your house. Most of "corporate America" isn't owned by a few fat cats - although there are many of those at the top. "Corporate America" is owned by stockholders - which includes pension plans as well as individuals.

There seems to be a common thought that "that guy has more than I have, so he must be a bad guy." That's not what built this country - or makes it one of the best places in the world to live.

The places to look at are China, India, and other developing nations. They don't care what they're doing to the air, the water, or their own people. China is building coal-fired power plants as fast as they can put them up, and that crap coming out of their chimneys doesn't take very long to drift elsewhere.

Yet, the tree-huggers in the US are so afraid of Godzilla, or mutant ants, or three-eyed dogs, or whatever they think nuclear power will bring that we haven't build a new nuke or refinery in what . . . 30 years. It's the NIMBYs that will drag this country down - not "corporate America."

So its cool for these corp giants to out source outside the country and continue to price things in the us with a growing rate in price? inflation is killing everyone.. Its ok for the corp giants to raise the minimum wage and prices to go along with it? How is it curing a problem?Nuke power maybe a cleaner way of power compared to coal.. But there still isnt a answer to the waste except for hauling it across county to store in nevada mountain.. Im from Decatur Illinois its owned by ADM of course Im gonna be against corp america.. As long as adm will allow union contractors in all there other plants the ability to pay out 20+ hr for welders and then in the Decatur plant keep in nonunion with 12 hr welder pay.. As long as Cat welders outside of Decatur make a starting pay of 22hr and decatur workers make 13hr starting pay yeah Im gonna have a problem...

All good thoughts guys....and one more good reason to support SEMA and all their efforts on our behalf. It cost nothing to get their monthly newsletter and stay on top of what the feds and states are doing, and who in our legislature is voting for or against us. Or just be a pessimist and sit and watch Hot Rodding as we know it disappear!!!! The folks running our government were voted into office by someone.....the way I see it you can either take the controls back, or just sit back and suffer the consequences and live with the decisions that others make. If the information presented on pollution, global warming, etc is incorrect then do some research and disprove it!!!!!! When you look at the average miles that a Hot Rod is driven over the course of a year, we don't contribute enough air pollution to even make up half a percent of the total problem..... It's our job, if we want to continue to see Hot Rodding grow, to make sure that people understand this..... I don't buy into the doom and gloom philosophy, nor will I without a fight..... Get involved, or get a new hobby, simple as that!!!!!

Thats another thing to keep in mind when buying new parts ,is that the larger manufactures here in the U.S. support our rights to have a hotrod ,otherwise they have no client base.
Soo that extra 20 bucks for the brand name Edelbrock manifold ,instead of the no name over seas company that has no interest in U.S. hotrod laws, may pay for alot more than you realize in the benifit of protection and representation ,where it counts.

Don't sell your hotrods just yet... I'm sure there will be a good alternative fuel we can run in our cars in the near future. And if not, I wouldn't be against throwing a turbo diesel in my el camino and running it on bio diesel. I like my big block chevy a lot better but if it comes down to driving my car or not that's what i'll have to do...

If you're capable enough to make $22/hr as a welder, then perhaps staying where they only pay $12/hr is pretty much your choice - not the "big corporation's."

[QUOTE=chevy 37]I'm pretty sure sometime down the road, it's going to effect most states. With more proof that the climate is changing due to warming of the planet from cars, factories, humans, etc.,

This is so untrue and you have and are bring fooled, thinking this way, what was it hitler said tell a lie long and often and some will follow, we humans are not power full enough to change the climate. If in doubt consider this question, how come we can not make it rain when we want, that is a simple manipulation of weather we have not figured that one out yet. So warming up the earth living , driving and in some cases farting, is really a dumb thought process, have another glass of cool-aid this country really needs a good shot of common sense,
I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it
