Well i finally got back to work on the truck the other night. Loaded up on needed supplies, so now i can get some more work done.
I took your advice and decided to add some more support to the c-notch area. I took a few shortcuts here, by using scraps i have laying around, but i figure by the time i weld it all up, it should be stout enough. I started by using the frame peice i cut out. i turned it upsidedown and welded it to the top of the frame, to act as a bridge. i reshaped it a little first to allow for the top peice to sit on top. then i added a flat strap across the top, i will then fill in both sides ,making it one solid, boxed in support.

I set the frame outside for a few days while i was messing with the thing, now it`s rusty again. Looks like moe cleanup for me! but thats what happens when you set bare metal outside in fla!

Yeah, ours even rust INSIDE in Florida.Your bracing looks good John. That should add a lot of strength to that area. Glad to see you back on the job again.

Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
