Lots of them have been done over the years.... Used to see them on the dragstrip and on the street. I built one for a guy many years ago, but he just brought the shell and I built the frame and cage for it.... No idea what the stock frame looks like, or even if they are full framed or a unibody..... What is it like? Any pics of the underneath side of one?????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dropping a big engine into a car made for a small one is what hotrodding is all about.

The easiest would probably be to use a motor plate and use a hydraulic clutch. Never did an Opel but I dropped a sbc into a Chevy Luv. In the Luv case, Hurst made a kit but it mounted the motor too high. Used the stock chassis mounts and made a plate that would bolt to the stock chevy engine mounts, then bolted the plate to the chassis mounts. Did the same thing with the trans mount, but I used a turbo 350. Swap came out great and I didn't have to modify the firewall. Where theres a will, theres a way.
Good luck with your swap.

Thanks guys i don,t have the car yet but was wanting to get some opions on what it would take to do this. I have thought on this as well as a older Toyota (maybe a 70 something). I know it will take some effort to do this but was hoping to get some ideas.I just wonder what happened to GOVERNMENT of the people by the people for the people?
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
