I had a dog that chased parked cars, he didn't live long.
When I go chasing women they end up lapping me, never could catch one.

From your avatar Don, I'd say the black T does the job just fine! I was at Sanderson's looking up the header model number I need, and they still feature your T a la bikini on their starter page!
How's Don's T working. I know you guys swapped out the brakes and wheel, so was wondering if he's able to drive it now!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Sandersons keeps sending me emails thanking me for putting that girls picture on their site. I don't think they even realize there is a car in the picture!
No Steve, Don's T is sitting. The TCI C4 with probably 100 miles on it took a dump. I called them and they think it is the torque converter or the splined input shaft. We have to pull the engine and transmission and send the transmission back to them. They are going to make it good, but Don is pretty fed up with the car about now and is just ignoring it. Can't say I blame him too much. He and I are going to get together some night and get working on it, probably this coming Thursday.
At least it looks like we have the handling issues fixed. Last time he drove it the car went straight and no death wobble when he punched it. All that aligning and balancing we did plus the new Wilwood brakes seemed to be the cure.
Jim, ITS PURPLE!!!! lol

retired
Hey, glad you got into another project Don. Retirement isn't so much fun after all, I've decided. After 7 months of sitting in my hideaway and not earning any money, It's getting pretty old. I have made out a couple of job apps, but who wants an old has-been who only wants to work (when he wants to work) 20 hours or so a week.
Great going on the old T. Glad also to find another thread to follow. Perley

Hey Perley, good to see you again. Yep, this retirement stuff is for the birds. Funny to think I couldn't wait until I could, and now I hate it. I am going to go back to work as soon as I find something interesting. I've had one offer, but they keep postponing things because they can't get a good lease on the marina where I would be working. I've decided to not consider that one anymore because I sure don't want to work for a company who can't make a decision in 3 months!
As for my '27, I figured it was time to bring the old girl back to life. I've been cleaning and inspection the old parts to see what is reusable, and what needs replaced. Just the other night I checked out the chromed tie rod and found a hairline crack running almost the entire length of it. Needless to say, THAT part will not be reused. Not sure when that happened, but maybe I took the car off the street at the right time. It was also slightly bent.
In the meantime, Dan's '49 project has kind of spilled over into my portion of the shop, so I can't do too much to the '27, but that is ok, I have lots of time.

I wonder about retirement----and then a contract ends, and after 2 or 3 weeks I start to go squirrely,---can't get back to work quick enough!!! And I've discovered that nobody pays you when you're retired!!! That really sucks!!! If I quit buying toys, I probably wouldn't need the money, but thats about as exciting as watching paint dry. I've been off for a couple of weeks now, but its been okay, because I've been busting my butt getting my lathe room drywalled and painted. I installed the lathe in its room today though, so after tomorrow, its time to get back to work.Old guy hot rodder

Yeah, retirement pay sucks!! I been getting 1297 a month, and out of that I pay 925 for mortgage. Don't leave much for toys. One of our Daughters just bought us tickets to Orlando, we leave Sunday the 13th. Whahoooooo. She has a rental down there for a week. Hopefully going to meet J. Robinson one day while down there. Thinking about selling our place here and buying a manufactured unit down that-a-way for winters, become a snow bird. Live in our Motor Home up here during the summer. Trouble is, no garage to play in. Drats. Perley

Come on down!!!!! This is the time to buy a home here, if ever. They can't hardly give them away right now and the prices are at rock bottom. In fact, foreclosures are at an all time high and even those aren't selling well.
And.......................no more snow to shovel Perley!

It's definitely a buyer's market here right now. I just saw a sign at the entrance to Lowe's last night: House for sale; appraised $168,000; must sell $86,000. We are seeing more & more of those around here; the housing market is really on its a$$.Jim

Things might be different in FL, but don't wait too long. The second highest foreclosure rate in the US behind FL has been here in Vegas. I've been trying for two weeks to work a deal and have been either beaten to the offer or outbid on four deals so far. The buyers (both investors and potential primary residents) are getting active again. March was the third monthly increase in sales. The banks that own them are even starting to get a little cocky.........I guess humility comes hard to them. This is real time info, not the election year scare tactics from our friends in the media who probably won't publish anything remotely resembling positive stories until after November. Houses here are about 30-35% off the highs of two years ago, but with this level of activity things could start moving upward. The rub will come again later depending on how many more loans reset this year. I'm betting on a second wave this summer that will tilt back toward the buyers.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

There is a condo property near us that is relatively new, couple of years old. When they were done building it the sign out front said $ 199 K for a three bedroom. Then it went down to $ 159. Then to $ 129. Now the sign reads "condos for sale or rent." My Son Don has a lot that was worth about $ 80K two years ago, now he can't get $ 40 for it.
If there was ever a time to buy something, this is it.
