I'm tired of trying to clean up old nasty headlight buckets, most of which have to be modified to use the new plug in Halogen bulbs.... Anybody have a source for a universal type headlight bucket??? I like the Hagan's bucket, but not everything looks right with frenched headlights.....

couldn't you mod a new reproduction bucket for a '50's car? I know that Chevsofthe40s.com sells reproduction buckets for the '49-'52's.

Good idea.... Don't remember what they look like.... Do they have enough room inside for the big holder and plug in for the Halogen bulbs???? I've been using the repops for the late 60's Ford pickups, but have to cut them to fit the wiring. Gettin' old, got to have the super bright headlights to see at night!!!!!!

I think they do, the hole is fairly large at the back. if I get a chance tomorrow, I'll pull 1 of the headlights out of my '51 Chevy and snap a pic, mine are rusty but it should give you an idea.. actually I should pull both out and sand and clean them out. and then order 2 new headlights.

Thanks Matt. The Ford one's that I use are open in the back too, still have to do a trim on them to make things fit.... Hopefully the chevy ones are bigger!

I'll measure the diamater of the hole in the back and post it with the picture

oh wait a minuite... just a thought but Volkswagon Euro headlights, some were 7".. I bet there is some company making buckets that fit HID headlights

Dave, I saw some dandy stainless shapes in the cooking utensil aisle at the supermarket. No kidding. Take a look. There was a skillet at Albertson's that I thought would be just right for a dust shield. Just notch it for the caliper and install.

Yup, used a few of those utensils myself Richard!!!

But, as I get older I must be getting lazy.... Looking for a store bought bucket that has all the whole to mount the ring and the indexing notch for the headlight bulb itself.....

Gettin' old ain't for sissies!!!!!
