1930 chevy hotrod
I am wondering if there are any methods to converting my mechanical brakes to hydraulic. i was told that i need to take the braking system from mid 50's chev. i am new at this so any help is welcome.

Hi Pauly, welcome to the group. I think I have seen a swap on a slightly later Chevy axle (like 1937) where they used '49-54 Chevy car spindles and complete brake setup, but not sure about a 1930.
What you might have to do is pull your spindles and compare them to the 49-54 ones to see what it would take to swap them. If the camber inclination is the same it would be a simple matter to rebore the kingpin bores either on the axle or spindles to make them the same. That may not even be necessary, but I am just saying.
Speedway sells a new version of the Chevy spindles, all machined for disc brakes, so if the regular ones fit you could use those and get better brakes too.
