Frame help!!!
I found a 1953 Chevy 2 door sedan and I want to make a nice driver out of it. I have a 468 BBC that I built a few years ago that I would like to use in it.My question is, is there a better frame to put under it or leave it alone?? I would like disc brakes, coil rear springs etc. I'm working on a small budget and need the advice of someone that has already been there. Thanks, Jeff

Did you stay with the leaf springs in the rear? I have several rear ends I mean 10 or 12 bolt stuff, but I was thinking 4 link. Just thought there mite be a frame with the rite wheel base that would make it fast and easy. (and cheaper)

Switching frames would not be fast, easy, or cheap.... Lots of companies making Mustang II style front suspension kits for the front.... Fits the stock frame very nicely and gives you the disc brakes and good steering. Leaf springs would be fine in the rear, if you have a 12 bolt to swap in the car that would be the way to go especially if it would happen to be the correct width! Some good shocks and ladder bars with a housing floater would finish out the rear just fine, or toss the leaf springs and go with coilovers and a 4 link. None of this is quick, easy, or cheap either....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
