What was this car or truck?
I found this in this woods around here and I am wanting it. I wonder what it was, it has a rumble seat step on the back right corner. Also it had this plate on the firewall. I have other pics, the whole frame is there including the suspension. I think it's a early buick coupe maybe, didn't fisher make thier bodys?"Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

That is good reading and I now know It could be an early ford, but what was the year they started putting rumble seats in them? Here is a pic of the dash., and no I do not have this yet, I am still researching who's it is."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

I'm pretty sure the first rumble seat (at least in a Ford) was the 1928 Model A.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

It also has a spare tire holder on each fender if that is any help. Notice too that there is no cowl vent. It does have the same shape firewall as the trk cab but much older I think. Does anyone recognize the gauges? They are very simple and small.Last edited by brickman; 05-19-2008 at 07:14 PM.

The dual-mount spares pretty much tags it as a higher-end type car in my opinion. Like you said, Buick or maybe Caddy or......who knows. I think there have been something like two thousand manufacturers come and go.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

Just on a whim, I googled the job number. Son of a gun, it came up. It's a 1931 Chevrolet Sport Coupe. Scroll down about halfway on this page and there it is, 31558.

You should have enough information now to search titles at the capitol and find out the last owner. Might even be able to chase it back to the original bill of sale.Last edited by techinspector1; 05-19-2008 at 07:27 PM.

WOW...I wish I could find something like that laying around the desert out here. 31 Chevy's are sharp cars. Good luck!

Wow Tech, that is very cool! What do you know, I thought that the rumble step ment something in the back. Boy they had plain dashes didn't they. The body is gone from the doors back but may be around in the brush there somewhere. I wonder where the vents were? Very cool, I am going to see if I can research who had it last."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"
