Thread: I think I found my problem

Ken, no, those are very good points. A panhard would help for sure as would one of those steering damper/stabilizers that SoCal and others sell.(the ones like VW bugs use on the front end.) Problem is, I have no room up front for either. The lowness of the car keeps me from adding any more bracketry up there. I never had this problem with my '27 with essentially the same setup, so it has to be something that is just not right, like the bent wheel and weak shock combo. The surprising thing is, the car drove like a dream in the beginning, at all speeds. I think the shocks were providing some control at that point, but just got too weak to do it any more.
Stu, you are right. I went back to square one and redid all the alignment points, caster, toe in, wheelbase, etc. Then I retightened all the bolts and nuts and adjusted my steering box tighter. I really feel I have found the culprit in the front wheels. I'll know for sure in the next week or so.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
