Hey Don,
Back in my college days I had a '60 Pontiac with a 4-speed Hydro and it launched like nothing else I ever owned.
I had a '63 Pontiac right after that with the "new" 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic trans and it was a dog by comparison.
Both cars had 389 two-barrel engines...
