Need INFO!!! '40 Hudson custom built on east coast
So this local guy i know used to own a '40 Hudson custom that was featured in Car Craft in the early 50's (50-52?). He sold it a few years back to another local and now hes selling it to make room at his shop. Havent seen the car yet but i hear its pretty beat. Needs floors and stuff. But from the description he gave me, the doors where welded on, fenders were molded in, hood was decked, doors had a swoop cut into them so i guess you could get in, and a whole bunch of other stuff. So if anyone has any info or pics on this car, PLEASE let me know. Like to see if it would be worth my time dragging home another piece of crap.

Was that thing listed in eBay a while ago? If so,it is definitely different. You'd have to see it first, and while it may have been something once, keep in mind what scrap is going for today. Hank

In the '40s and early '50s there was a trend to take old sedans and section the heck out of them, move the roof panel back to be the rear deck, swap stuff around (often from other cars), and make a "sports roadster" out of it that may have only resembled the original donor car in the grille area. The cut down doorway was a common theme. The "fad" drew enough attention that Popular Mechanics even had a how-to article in an early '50s issue.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

ITs not the same car that was listed on ebay but a different one. Probly the same idea but this ones in north jersey sitting in a barn a few miles from my house.
But i will have to take a look at it and see what i could do with it. And of course ill take pictures when i go. It does sound like one of those sports roadsters since other people have told me the same thing.
