1954 Chevy 3100 Truck
I have always wanted a 1954 chevy truck. Fat fenders, great lines, and a beautiful grill.
Well, the other day a buddy of mine has one turn up down the street from his house. We have been looking for a rough old truck just to drive around. This truck is far from rough. The old guy who owns it is the original owner. Arizona car that has no rust and it runs. I can't find anything wrong with it. No accident damage, the chrome looks good, and even the interior looks complete. Of course there are things I would love to do to it, but that will have to wait for now.
The owner is asking $4000. This seems like a deal to me considering the condition and pedigree. I can't find anything even similar for less than twice this amount.
Am I just smitten or is this a good price?

I paid $2000 for my '51 and everyone thought it was a good deal. It runs but I haven't started it yet. It has no brakes and needs a lot of interior work but it looked so cool. I'd say that's a good deal if it's drivable.

-sgo70- my truck looked almost identical to that when i bought mine, only a cab corner and a little metal work on the pass rear fender! 800 bucks and we drove it home
-37caddy- i would say that it is a pretty good find if its relatively rust free and as good of shape that one is in! + its a 5 window!

Snatch it up! After paying 2500 for mine, and spending the last two months on the body rust, your truck is ready to roll now!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Hey Tim did you change the chassis, I was thinking of the S10 frame with a 383 or something and this kit:

I think the price is fair. I am usually the first one to goad someone into taking a sawzall to something but I think an original surviver like that should be left alone and not modified. There is plenty of hotrod fodder around.
Those are actually quite a pleasure to drive in stock form, unless you have a lot of metro and then I think the brakes would be a little lacking for today.

I agree with Willowbilly3
It is in such pristine shape, that any chopping would be ashame for the purist out there, it is a heck of a find. You could alwys do an engine swap, but keep the originals if you want to resell it, and upgrade the brakes like stated above for safety sake!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

That truck looks clean, are you sure it's all original? The wheel base doesn't look quite right. If it is all original and it's drivable 4k isn't bad. Here is one I found on line, notice where the wheels are in the wells.....

This says it's all original and runs also, they do look different...
I paid $750 for my '51 it didn't run and it's not a 5-window, but it was all there.
This is it today.....

Tim_bo, Pretty much nothing stock left. It's got a Ford 9" with a 4-link setup in the rear. An MII setup in the front, with a 350/350 combo to move it.....Our race team page

Hey Ed. Nice to see you again here. Post some pictures. I know what you mean about losing help! I had a neighbor, that was always there to help lend a hand or carry something, when he moved to NY 3 years ago the whole neighborhood changed. All my friends are out of state now, so I rely on a semi retired neighbor, who has two homes, and gets back here once or twice a month. I always buy a good lunch for help with stuff like engine pulling! Hopefully your son didn't move too far away." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
