I have many choice words I would say about her, there's no way she would have missed the sound of the car careening over, the fact that she didn't stop shows she was worse than wreckless, he could have been there dying (collapsed lung without attention sounds pretty bad to me) and she just drove off. If I ever caught her and it were up to me I'd push for attempted murder.

Me, I would have taken the hit from her rather than mess with going off the road, take her with you. I have gone onto the paved shoulder to avoid idiots like this, but not off the road itself. hell, I drove a guy into a field when he tried to shove past me and I didn't feel like slamming on my brakes. I REALLY hate bad drivers.

list of things that irritate me (just a very short version)
-inconsistency (that's number one, if you drive slow, but consistently, I can account for it, if you constantly speed up then slow down and repeat all it does is make me want to bludgeon you)
-slow driving in the fast lane
-purposely blocking the gap so people can't get around the other slow driver off your front corner
-not getting all the way over out of the main lane when making a turn

I recently moved to an office further from my house, and one that requires I use the freeways, I seriously stay half an hour late every day because if I leave during rush hour my blood pressure sky rockets and you can see the black cloud of cuss hovering over my car.

and I saw somebody said cell phones were the big culprit, thats not true. bad drivers are bad drivers regardless. cell phones may make a bad driver even worse, but without the phone they'd still be a worthless steaming pile on the seat. next time somebody is driving in a way that pisses you off look over as you pass them, they aren't paying attention, I guarantee it. very seldom does somebody purposely drive bad, they're just so stupid they don't process information fast enough, and pay attention closely enough, to be good drivers.

I'm glad your friend is gonna pull through good, hope the car does the same, sad to hear he is under insured. its the pits man, it really is. tell him to look at the bright side, next time around he has a chance to not paint it yellow!
