I have not filed a claim with Grundy, but did with Hagerty. They sent out an adjuster, who agreed with the cost of repair and issued a check. They did ask questions as to how it occurred (single car accident) but there was no big discussion or issues. They don't care who repairs your vehicle as long as it is repaired to the insured condition.
I had insurance a few years back with a company that had mileage restrictions, but never once asked me to document my mileage. Their limits were fair and I never exceeded them, and due to their limits their rates were reasonable at first, but then started to jump up. Grundy's rates have only gone up when the insured value went up, and even then it has been a small increase. I would imagine if you were accident prone they might take bigger leaps.
Another thing that may impact some here, not me of course, Grundy will not insure a car owned or driven by anyone under the age of 25. Matter of fact, if you have a child under that age, they will not cover them in an accident even if you give the child permission to use the car. Hagerty, on the other hand, will cover the vehicle if the policy holder gives permission to a family member to drive the vehicle.
This might be a consideration if anyone has any "under age" drivers in your family. Pisses my daughter off, she is 20 and not allowed to drive either of my cars.Bob
