need help with air ride choices
I have a 1957 chevy pick up that I will be narrowing the rear for 20x15 wheels, Can any one tell me is there a big difference between the airride bags(the bags with the shock that goes threw them) and the older firestone air bags, I know the airride is a cleaner look to them, but the price is quite a bit more. Also can anyone recommend a 4 link system (the best bang for the buck) so to speak. Thank You.....Mike

Mike, I'm not an expert, but have used few different kind and replaced some. You are right about the "Shock style", they are a better product depending on your set-up. Are you wanting to adjust your height or adjust the ride quality or both? The straight bags are great as helpers, let's say your ride sits pretty low for normal driving, they can raise you a couple of inches to get out of situations, on trailers or car lifts, you wont have to use a jack! But if they are used as primary suspension, it gets bouncy or stiff depending on psi. You can always tell a ride that's done that, just drive behind them...Good luck..39 Plymouth 2-door sedan, 46 Dodge pu, 67 Mustang stock, 01 Road King
