where can I buy front drums and shoes for 40 Ford spindles

I am thinking about a hot rod related project for the coming winter. The Wild Canary would benefit from new front drums and shoes (1940 ford) but I don't know who sells them. I called Hortons today, and they didn't know. Does anyone out there know?---Thanks---Brian

    Here are a few links:

    http://www.vintageford.com/sect_sear...ow=1&PageNum=1

    http://www.thehotrodcompany.com/shop...ilterkey=brake

    http://www.riley-auto.com/LINCOLN_BRAKES.html

    http://www.speedwaymotors.com/p/5847...kes-Drums.html

    http://www.kanter.com/p06-bk.html

Several of these list the drums, but only Sacremento Ford listed the shoes. Kanter Auto also listed overhaul kits.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Hotrod46 The price of shoes is certainly within my budget, but at $125 each for drums, I hope my drums can be turned. I wonder where I would get maximum bore/turn limit specifications for a 40 ford drum?

I just bought a set of the Lincoln drums for my T. I believe they have a max diameter of 12.090" cast into them.

I would think the Ford drums are the same, since they're supposed to interchange.

I can check tommorrow if you want.

I just found some info on the net that says 12.060" is max.

Better not take my word for it. I'll keep looking though.

That's pretty standard and the number I use when I clean up used ones to resell. I never saw it published tho and for my own use I would be ok with 12.070 or so.
