I am going to do more to the 37 chevy p/u

Over last winter I put a T-5 behind the 235 and lowered it about 4 inches all the way around and installed disc brakes and a modern rear end and it goes down the road just fine now, before it had the original trans and rear end and it was screaming at 50 plus it road rough and the brakes sucked putting it mildly. Now some more changes are coming,I am going to letter it like a shop truck and do it in the same way that the original owners did but not use that company name. The interior I put in will look out of place so I am going to redo it to look more original but with a couple custom features but will look some what period correct,I also removed the finned aluminum valve cover along with the chrome air cleaner and replaced them with 216 parts so I could get the 235 to look more like a original 216. If the motor would not be such a pain to pull I would remove it to paint it the original 37 color but it looks like I will be stuck with chevy orange,I still need to figure out what I am going to do with the alternator as I kind of want to put a generator back on it but I am going to be installing halogen head lights in the original head light reflectors so I might have to stop with the period correct stupidity there and not open that side of the hood. I know about the generators that are converted to alternators but they are way too expensive for me so that will probably be the last part I change if I go that far. Jeff

with an air brush and a little time you can paint the block in the car.

excuse me.. a LOT of time!

Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

If I get bored this winter I might try it but I have the block and head painted orange and the valve cover and other parts painted black so it does not look too bad, originally everything on the motors were painted the same color which is too much of the same color. The more I think about it is I would rather redo the interior then paint the motor so it will be left orange unless it would have to come out but if that was the case the motor would have to be really broke since alot can be done to it still in the chassis.
