I don't have the body measurement but this is mine. The rear is 56" wide with an approx. half inch of spacer on each side for a total of approx. 57 inches. The reason for the spacers is because I'm using shelled out Buick drums on the rear to cover the ford drums. The Wheels are 16" X 6" with 3 and 3/4" back spacing. Even spaced out as it is now, the tires are pretty tight to the body.
I may not be good but I sure am slow

Gastricks car looks just right with his setup and wheel backspacing.
56" outer brake drum to outer brake drum is pretty much the perfect size for 32's and A's.
57" to 58" is very workable and changing to wheels with a different backspace is easy.
My 32 roadster has a 56" rear axle and takes wheels from 10" x 15" down to 6" x 15".
The big wheels backspace at 3" and the other rear wheels I've run (7" x 15") had a 4" backspace.
The 4" backspace wheels didn't look right, but to be fair the tires were smaller than the 3" backspace wheels ran.C9

My back spacing is either 3 or 3 1/2", don't remember exactly. And I have about 3/4 to 1" clearance between tire & body {at closest point}..... Bill
