Rocky Mountain Rod & Custom
An annual event every Thanksgiving weekend. I remember going to this show as a kid with my Dad, Uncles and my cousins and brother, all the dads and the older boys would go to the car show and the moms and younger kids would go shopping. We always got together at my grandmas home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The show was originally put on by The Sabers car club of Denver now it is put on by Graybeard promotions...still a great show."Breathe in... Breathe out... then move on with life. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff"

G.R.,
Thanks so much for the Pictures-I had my Car in the Sabres show in 1972 (I can't remember the name of the Show back then, I still have my Trophies somewhere)-As I recall, it was loosely called the Sabre's Car Show, but I remember a different "official" name?
I also recall it was held in the Colosseum-where is it held now?Last edited by 35WINDOW; 12-02-2008 at 04:33 PM.

The blue 'vette in the previous post is one of the original built to take on Shelby and the Cobra before Chevrolet pulled the plug on racing...probably could have beat ol' Shel too if development had been allowed to continue. Ever seen a Charger convertible?"Breathe in... Breathe out... then move on with life. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff"

35window, when I was a kid the first few years I started going, starting in '58 or so, it was held at the National Western Stock show at the old arena area. It was held there until the Colosieum was built in downtown Denver then the show moved.
If memory serves it was "The Sabres of Denver Thanksgiving car show". We always went to the show until I was 18. After that life got in the way, family moved you know the drill. I went a couple of different times over the years but now we are back here in Colorado we are trying to make it a family guys thing with the older nephews and grand sons."Breathe in... G.R.,
I think the National Western Stock Show and the Colosseum are the same place-right off of I-70 and Brighton Blvd right? the Arena is on the north side of I-70 and the Colosseum is on the south side.
You must be right on the name of the Show-guess old age IS creep[ing in-
Thanks for the pictures-looks like an awesome show-Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?
