For me just advice and good posts of the progress on that 5 window coupe, parts are parts, but advice and good chatter is priceless.

Story of my life. All the good looking 44 year old women only want me to ADOPT them!! Oh, that's right Barb, you are already taken.

Sorry Don, I hadn't seen that you had posted this thread, so I posted some of it on your Paul Lemat thread. I have to mention that this whole carb deal couldn't have been possible without Gastrick (Bill) A) Willing to sell it, and B) Being extremely generous in the price. He simply wanted my Son to have that setup and although he could have gotten way more selling it on Ebay or something like that, he put money out of the picture and instead focused on helping another person out. But that is just the way Bill and his whole family are.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with them last Saturday when I drove to Lauderdale to get the carbs, and enjoy seeing them more each time we run into each other. His Mom, Dad, and Brother are exactly like Bill as far as just being about the nicest, most real folks around. They are also some very hard core rodders and are always knee deep in some project. I took some pictures when I was over there. First one is Bill working on the motor mounts to install the 392 Hemi in his already sweet Deuce. Second one is a picture of his Dad and Brother, and the other two are his old and new engines, and his Brother's cool 55 Chevy. (BTW, they tell me the 55 has a history. It was one of the extras used in American Graffiti.......but not the one they rolled over! )

Is that a 40 - 41 Willys in the pic of Bill's dad?

I concur; I've met Bill twice now and he is a really nice guy.

Hey Don, as long as you're adopting all the young folks, can I be your long-lost favorite brother that you like to buy stuff for?

Only if I can claim you as a dependent at the end of the year.

Yep, that is Bill's Dad's Willys. These guys have bigblockitis, every car they have is stuffed full of engines like 502's and Hemis. I think the Willys is getting a huffer on top of a Hemi, if I recall. I know Bill borrowed his Dad's Hemi valve covers to mock up his 32, and they were saying something about an 871 sitting on a shelf. His Dad already has that black Pontiac (48 I think), also running a BBC and all the modern comforts.

Here's the yet to be rebuilt mock-up engine in my 32 that belongs to my dad. It's going in the Willys when it gets rebuilt Jim.

Nothing says "MEAN" like a slammed willys with a huffed Hemi and fat tires in the rear tubs. I'll look forward to seeing your dad's car finished.

There's only one thing to say about a collection of toys like that... WOW!

I wish I had taken more pictures, but I was trying to get back on the road. The dash in the Willys is really trick, maybe Bill has more shots of that.

Yeah, but they've gone soft. There is a TV, Fridge, and even an A/C unit in their garage. Real rodders sweat into their work and make it all rusty and stuff like that. OK.........I'M JEALOUS TOO!!

It's also so clean you can actually move around in there without tripping over stuff.
