Large style license plate frame
I went from a "modern" license plate (12" x 6") to an original '38 license plate (13 1/2" x 5 1/2"). Anyone know of a source for a lit plate frame for the larger plate? Can't find any with the searches I'm doing on the net, must be doing something wrong.....again. Thanks

Both So-Cal speedshop (www.so-calspeedshop.com) and Bob Drake (www.bobdrake.com) list them in their catalogs. Bob Drake has both round corner or square corner large format frames.

Unfortunately those that Mick referred too are either on the large or small side, they're sized for Cali plates, and the bolt hole spacing is wrong for the vintage Wa. plate. One of the vintage plate dealers sells one he has milled from aluminum with rounded corners/edges. He sells them in brushed finish, but with some smoothing and polishing you can make them look almost like chrome. Also, none of the vintage ones I've seen are lighted, you'll have to improvise with either a Hollywood accessory type, or lightning bolts (l.e.d.s in an acornish bolt head). The Early Bird swap at Puyallup is Feb 14-15, Jim (the plate dealer) is usually there. He gets $35 ea last I saw. Just looked on Craigslist since he often advertises there. Looks like he has another style available too, his number is in the ad; http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/996620639.htmlYour Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

I had a hard time finding anything to work with my 25 WA plates... What I ended up doing was buying 2 basic frames... cutting them each into 4 sections that when put back together, would make one frame that fit the plate
I ended up making a back plate as well so it could be attached to the license plate bracket...
Guess I should have wiped up the fingerprints before I took the pictures!
