    Rod N Race????

    RodNRace Fiberglass-Formerly A1 Fiberglass
I ordered a part and it took 4 month's to get it. I was told that "We did a move and we are ok now". OK, fine, so I ordered another pr of parts. I was told 6 weeks or sooner if I needed it. I asked for sooner (4 weeks). At week 1 of March I called and was told they go out tomorrow, two weeks later nothing so I called again- "Oh, My mistake, yours go out in two days". Nothing as of today and its almost April.

I want to paint the whole car at one time while it is apart and not get any paint mismatch. My car is in paint limbo until I get these things and spring has sprung.
Anyone know or deal w these guys?
    Mom(son) N Pop joint?
    Are they normally so SLOOOOW?
How about other Suppliers, is this an industry standard?

Prices are low. Thats why I ordered from them.
Not that I mind waiting If I know up front + they are honest about delivery time. But it makes me look bad when I have people waiting on a car or part. Moving, undermanned and over/behind orders I understand. but it seems excessive.

Formerly known as Anderson Industries, then A1 Fiberglass, and then Rod and Race. First in Elkridge Md and then moved and merged with another company in Cumberland Maryland and now in WVA. They have been around for many years. Mostly building glass parts for race cars, but back about 15 years ago they were making a 34 Ford coupe and a Model A roadster. Neither of which would be considered a quality product, but prices were low.

I looked at both and walked away. They also built a semi-lookalike prowler that was kind of ugly. Their glass parts and race bodies might be decent products and good prices, but I wouldn't look to them for a project car. I never heard anyone ever say that their build process and their shipping departments were quick. More complaints then good comments.

I have used there parts on severeal occasions. One C-Cab body, one Cobra Body and 4 sets of F-100 fenders. Never had much of a problem with there shipping and the quality of there parts is to be expected for the price, which is pretty cheap. Plan on doing a lot of prep work, and fitting takes a little planning as well.

I remember ads for all of those versions of the company,Unlimited used to have ads almost carbon copys of the old A1 ads. From what I have seen over the years hand fitting is pretty much an industry standard. Parts shift as they cure + off the shelf ones in particular. But I think i'll spend the extra from now to get my stuff in a timely manner.
