American Grafetti Days
This weekend kicks off the American Grafetti Salute here in Petaluma. Lots of cool rides out there and a scheduled Blvd. cruising tonight. I'll take a camera downtown before work tomorrow and try and get some shots. Supposedly Mel's Dinner is being recreated tomorrow too!Last edited by stovens; 05-16-2009 at 01:39 PM.

Well I ran down town and caught a lot of the cars rolling in. The local traffic control officers pissed a few rodders off, by letting tons on non hot rod traffic through, making the rods overheat while jockeying for a parking spot.
Here are some great pictures:

I love this shot because it has my first car a mustang, followed by my current project a F1 Ford.

Here's a blow up on the organ donor sticker. For those who reconise it's look-a-like sticker from the California DMV for single driver's to drive in commute diamond lanes. This one sort of pokes fun. I need to get one for the truck!

Great pictures Steve. You guys in California really do cars up right. I LOVE that mid 50's Buick, and all the others too.

Thanks guys. I felt like a kid in the candy store. It was a real honor to talk with the 50 F1 owner, who built his truck up from scratch. We got to talk about all the little stuff that most people wouldn't think of. He told me he prepped all the body work, and then had maico spray the truck, paid extra for the color sanding but save thousands over what his friend put into paint. He said he painted the interior and Jams, and let them do the rest. A thought I've been tossing back and forth for awhile. I noticed his pin stripe details, and told him about Scratch who did Don's car, and his son's car. It was just a real nice time, with folks who put a lot of time, like you guys into their rides.
The guy with the Bubbies pickle panel wagon, was pretty cool too. I wish I had all day to talk with these guys. The event is free to the public, and lasts all day. Unfortunately I've missed it two years running because of work. Next year I getting vacation time! The plan is to have the truck drivable and in the event, each year(missed the deadline two times now, but plan to make it next year, whether in primer, or fully done! The best part is it's three blocks from my house!
Here's a few more shots of the F1
