Model A Roadster Pick-up
I am going to (oh sacrilege) chop up a 1931 ford sedan and turn it into a roadster pick-up. I will cut body off just behind front doors, move rear of body foreward, then cut top off & fabricate a pick-up bed and a carson top. Has anyone out there done this before? Does anybody know the measurement from outside to outside of brake drums on a model A ford? I have an I-beam & spindles, but don't know what they are out of.
Thanx---BrianOld guy hot rodder

Well ive actually seen several roadster pickups made from 2dr and 4dr sedans and even (gasp) a five window. Sorry but ive got a glitch that wont let me post any pictures but if youll check out the viva las vegas, anti blessing and the shifters car shows you should see at least one pickup thats been made from a sedan.
Either way your straight axle should work since all Ford axles are within a few inches of eachother."its better to rule in hell, than serve in heaven."

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
