Haven't updated this post in a while. Had about a three month setback dealing with DMV. It's a long story but the bottom line is the DMV found problems with the block numbers on the engine so I had to take the engine out and turn over to them. I've since gotten another engine and finished the registration process and it's on the road!!!
So, with summer slipping away I decided to make the most of it. I shot some rattle can flat black on it so it's all one color and I'll continue to work on it, but I will still drive it and try to enjoy what's left of the summer. I'll finish the bodywork and paint over the winter.

Still good progress .... but do tell ... you have us hanging on your ear now about the DMV. I live here in Ga. & they seem to be fairly liberal on kit car/drive line parts.
Go ahead ..... tells us what happened. We all would appreciate the info so it doesn't happen to us. Or not.
Still .... good looker so far. I've enjoyed the build process.

They actually made you give them your other engine? Wow, that is very strange. Some States are really tough on car laws. Sure glad I live in Florida where we have none of that going on....................yet.
Your roadster looks really sharp BTW.

I spoke to Arrowhead right after it happened - he lives about 10 miles (as the crow flies) from me. It was a sad story as Lincoln MkVIII 4.6 Teksid engine is now scrap aluminum. He'll have to tell you how it happened.Dave W

Fair enough, I honestly was just being lazy and not retelling the story. I took the time to write up the saga in my website:
https://sites.google.com/site/arrowh...problems?pli=1
but i'll recap it here:
I made an apointment to bring the "completed" car down to the DMV Field Inspection station to get a VIN assigned. There is a whole porcess of paper work to fill out and different departments to deal with. Everything was going good, I had all the proper safety equipment and DOT numbers for lights and tires, etc.
Evidently, the engine in the donor car I bought wasn't the original and had been replaced at some point. Therefore the engine serial numbers didn't match the paperwork on the title. If that wasn't bad enough, someone along the line had stamped the numbers from the current car on the engine block. The DMV inspectors took exception to that and impounded the whole car. I thought buying a complete car with a clear title was the surest way of getting the proper paper work for the egnine:
https://sites.google.com/site/arrowh...r-car-teardown
A week later I was informed I had to go down to thier garage and remove the engine and turn it over to them, but I could get the transmission and the rest of the car back. So I had to take almost my whole garage full of tools and engine hoist down, remove the engine and tow the rest of the car home on a trailer.
The best part is they wouldn't let me keep the custom intake or bug catcher intake scoop, even though I had reciepts.
After suffering that setback, I found another engine at a salvage yard with good numbers and clear title from the original car. I cleaned it up and threw it in the car just to get it running. I brought the car back down and had it reinspected and it passed and I got a new VIN. I took my paper work and got my safety inspection and new plates.

I saw your post earlier to day and you inspired me Dave! I haven't been paying attention to the weather and I thought it was going to be nice for Guptils tomorrow. So I took the time today to fit the hard top and glass. No side windows yet, but at least the electrical system will be protected if we do get wet.
I will admit, I've been kind of on a mission to rebound from the DMV mess. In my mind, I'm thumbng my nose at them

Thanks for the explanation.
What was the reason for not letting you have your new parts? Just because it was bolted to your engine?

Just another update. I managed to the get the parts together to put the blower on. It's running pretty good and I have about 700 miles on it. It's far from done, but summers are short around here so i'm trying to get some enjoyment out it. I'll hopefully finish the bodywork and paint over the winter and have it ready fro next summer. i've updated my build site with more info if anyone is interested:
