1974 ford pinto
one member asked to post some pics of my driver, so here they are. its a california car. 1974 pinto runabout with 71-3 bumpers. when i got it, it was set up with some roadracing stuff. i like the straight line and i like sleepers so i removed most of those parts. it has an 8 inch with 3.40s and a spool. the tranny is still a stock 88 turbo coupe t5. that will be going to a c4 eventually. the motor is out of the same turbo coupe. stock forged pistons with new rings and turned crank. the head is studded and ported. big valves this winter hopefully. boport 1.9 cam which is still hydrolic but is roller. fully ported lower intake. the upper intake is shortened 2.5 inches and rotated 120 degrees. its also modified to fit the 65mm throttle body. header is built by me and the turbo hanging off is a holset hy35 off a cummins auto ram. exhaust is 3.5 inches, no muffler and dumps at the rear axle. intercooler is a spearco and needs to be bigger, along with the tubing. for electronics, its an la3 eec out of the turbocoupe with a tweecer rt installed. all tuning done with the program binary editor on a laptop. injectors are 95# and it is converted to blow through mass air flow.
the car is a definate sleeper as youll see by the pics. and yes i know the wiring under the dash is still a spider web. im still unsure where i want to run them out of the firewall. i think itll be where they are at now, but that may change.

I had a buddy in Vegas that had a 73 pinto not the hatch back though.
He dropped a 302 in it with a B & M blower, Man was that thing fast.
But the headers really took him some work, he had to cut holes through
the side walls of the engine compartment to run them thru.
I believe he was in the mid 9's in the 1/4 mile.
I always loved that car, it was tubed and fat tires in the back skinny
tires in the front and a single scoop right over the carb.
It was painted a metalic dark forest green.
Siggy had one fast pinto. Kurt
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
