Congratulations on your wedding! Must have been cool with your friends following in their cars too. And of course, Congrats especially on your car. Gives me some incentive to get going again on my Essex RS coupe. My car needs an awful lot of body work also. It's intimidating. Never done bodywork like that before, and haven't any machinery to make patch panels. sigh. PerleyToo old to work, Too poor to quit.

thanks!
Just attack that thing. If you have a hammer and some sheetmetal you can make it work! Just jump in! If it's a complicated panel, just make smaller sections and join em up
Also I wanna make a point to anyone who may be attempting this for the first time, alot of cars you see in magazines or on message boards these days are metal finished to such a high degree it makes people think they need all this experience and toools to build their own car. Not true. You may not be able to get it perfect in metal, but close enough that the average skim coat of bondo will do. This is more reasonable, plus I dont care who built it, if you want smooth, shiny paint then even the finest metal finished car is gonna get some filler. So BUILD em and have fun and dont get stuck on the little things!

sound advice dreddybear. that goes for most aspects of a car. there are so many ways to do things and yet I always get hung up trying to do it the way its "supposed" to be done instead of just using my head to get the job done and move on. I can't wait to build my next car using everything I have learned this time around'35 Ford coupe- LT1/T56, '32 Ford pickup, 70 GTO convertible, 06 GTO

It's been a while but I figured i could update a little
Cut out the ugly hump for the f100 side steer:
Made a mount to run '40 cross steer:
Rebuilt this bad boy:
Learnin to sew:
Makin things nice:
Chromin stuff:
Strippin stuff...
Black Frame.

Engine stuff
It's a shame the timing cover gets covered up.
I'm glad I spent so much time on the oil pan bolts. They're gonna be so easy to see..:
Valley pan..
Makin wires..
Gettin there..
Putting things together and taking it slow. Waiting for some little parts.
Need to paint the 3rd member black. Chalk that up on the "forgot to do" list. Oh and this axle is definitely temporary. Real deal chromed drop is gonna happen.
I have little chrome and vinyl caps I'm making that snap onto the kingpin top and the kingpin bolt..
If it matters or helps any one make sure these two go together easy. If its hard then the torque converter isn't in all the way.
And there's an engine sittin in there..

Almost time to move onto body work and put this in the corner.
Fuel log is sort of floating:
Made a vinyl insert for the back wheel:
A goofy one for the steering box mount:
Definitely decided to chuck these ugly ass headers and chrome the manifolds.
Cleaned up the carb bases:
Got some Fuel lines run and painted the scoops. Still need a polishin.
Then when I went to make some linkage I took this aluminum rod and shaped the ends and then chucked it up to polish it. Well the first one got off balance and shot like a bullett through the wall!
Second one turned out ok..
Thank you Roger. .
