Nice work Dan. I know your proud of him. He must have some tremendous patience. Both of your boys seem very mechanically inclined, maybe a used mill?" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Not really good pictures but My set up is probably kind of like a 23.
I will be able to adjust alot of the slack out, but I am not sure if it will come below the frame. Maybe a little. Pictures are at the bottom of the page. Kurt

Charlie, he used his Mig. He's gotten very comfortable with the Mig and his logic is that he wants to spend some time practicing with the Tig before he does any work with it. With his time being at a premium any time he gets he tries to make as much progress as he can, so if he spent time playing with the Tig it would take some of that time away. He doesn't know it but he is going to get a whole lot of practice when he builds my cage for me in my Altered. Although maybe MY ROLLBAR isn't the place to practice welding.
Kurt, from what I can see in the pictures it looks like you have plenty of ground clearance under there. You shouldn't have any problems IMO.

I wish you were closer too Paul, you know your way around a welder, that's for sure. Maybe if you make that move to Tampa?
Steve, I gotta try those Costco socks. The Walmart ones I've been buying aren't getting the job done. For some reason they get rust stains around the tops.......maybe I've been doing too much grinding in them.

you can get on and off the sheet metal with the mig more so then the tig for small lower heat tacks fast .well for me any ways i like to have a hammer and dolly not to far away to work at abit as i go .tig welding is not that hard abit slower then mig .but better weld fillet control for welds that look so good you want to frame them and hand them on the wall .your son should take to it like a duck to waterLast edited by pat mccarthy; 12-15-2009 at 06:57 AM.
